Statement of Faith
We believe in God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit and believe that we are known and loved by him.
We believe in the father who is creator of heaven and earth and who loves the world and people he created.
We believe that he has worked through history, but that we, as humanity, are broken and constantly mess up, turning away from the way God wants us to be.
We believe that because God loved us, he became one of us, in the person of Jesus, to show us his heart. That Jesus died to save us from the consequences of our sin and brokenness, and to restore our relationship with God. That he rose from the dead and defeated death. We believe that he will come again, and that we will have a new heaven and new earth in which there is no more death or sorrow and all things are as they should be.
We believe that Jesus left his Holy Spirit with us, to live in us, guide us and to work with us and through us to reveal glimmers of God’s kingdom until the day when we will see it in full.
We believe that God gave us the gift of the Bible, that it is an eclectic, complicated and beautiful collection of books inspired by God and useful for teaching us, helping us to grow, and for bringing us closer to God.
We believe that, as Jesus taught, our main calling in life is to love God and to love others. We seek to respond to that call as a church.
